(IN PERSON & VIRTUAL OPTIONS)

Private coaching is designed to help you and your dog build real-life skills together. Whether you’re working on basic training or more complex behaviour challenges, this option allows you to be fully involved in the process.

Who is this for?

This is ideal for dog parents who are struggling with their dog’s behaviour and want to be actively involved in the training process.

Whether you’re building foundational skills or working through more complex behavioural challenges, private coaching gives you the tools and support you need to succeed.

What to expect:

With private coaching, you’ll receive one-on-one training tailored to your dog and your lifestyle. Because every dog is different, each plan is fully customized to meet your specific goals. During your sessions, you can expect:

  • One-on-one training with owner involvement
  • A personalized training plan designed for your lifestyle
  • In-depth training reports and/or videos after each session
  • Hands-on instruction with practical, real-life exercises
  • Ongoing support between sessions

In addition, sessions typically begin in your home so your dog can learn in a familiar environment. From there, we can gradually progress to more challenging locations as your dog’s skills improve.

What you can learn:

Throughout your training, you’ll learn how to:

  • Read your dog’s body language and better meet their needs
  • Teach foundational skills such as sit, down, stay, and more
  • Address nuisance behaviours like jumping, pulling, barking, and lunging
  • Manage herding behaviours, including nipping
  • Build a reliable recall so your dog comes when called
  • Help your dog settle and relax in different environments

As a result, you’ll gain the confidence and skills needed to continue training long after your sessions are complete.

Why choose private coaching?

Private coaching allows you to work directly with your dog while learning how to handle real-life situations. Because of this, progress is practical, sustainable, and tailored to your everyday routine.

If you’re looking for a more hands-off option, you may also be interested in day training, where I work directly with your dog for you.

Getting started

Private coaching requires an initial consultation so I can better understand your dog, your goals, and your current challenges. If you’re ready to get started, you can contact me here to book your first session.

Training approach

I use reward-based, humane training methods that are free of pain, fear, and intimidation. In addition, my approach aligns with best practices recommended by the IAABC.

All private training starts with an initial consultation. You’ll first complete a detailed questionnaire about your dog’s history, behaviour, and your training goals. We’ll then discuss everything during a phone consultation (with in-person consultations recommended for some complex cases). Following our session, you’ll receive a written report with a personalized training plan outlining the next steps.

Often used as a tune-up after completing a coaching package, or for addressing specific training questions.
